Support the Arts & Humanities

Take Action!

At 7 am on March 16th, the new Trump Administration released their budget proposal to fund the federal government for the coming fiscal year (FY2018). The Trump proposal includes massive budget cuts (more than $54 billion in cuts to domestic programs in one year alone). The proposal includes the proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and the Corporation for National and Community Services (Americorps), among other federal agencies.

Take 2 minutes now to contact your members of Congress and join the #SaveTheNEA campaign.

“Everyday Beauty” by Lena G. Reynolds

This is a sunset over Irving Park. The arts and humanities remind us of beauty, critical thought, and of our common humanity. Everyone deserves that.

ARTivism at the LCC invites all creatives from the UIC campus and neighboring communities to participate by submitting their original activist work.*

*To submit your original activist artwork, please email Ana Ruiz, LCC Student Educator, at aruiz35@uic.edu.
Your artwork should reflect this question: How does your artwork communicate the urgency around your topic and/or your vision for social transformation?
