Join Mexican Students de Aztlán (MeSA), Students for the Advancement of Freedom, Equality and Human Rights (SAFEHR), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), and Union for Puerto Rican Students (UPRS) for the first Noche de Poetas (Poetry Night) of the Fall 2014 semester with a special collaboration with the Black Student Union (BSU).

OPEN MIC!

Don’t miss the amazing talented poets as they share their own poetic words on this month’s theme: “Justice through Solidarity.”

  • What does solidarity look like to you?
  • How can we start bridging communities in segregated UIC?
  • How can UIC students  support each other?

Leading the night will be our featured poet Malcolm London, currently a UIC undergraduate student, co-chair of Black Youth Project 100 Chicago Chapter, and community activist. London is deeply interested in changing the rhetoric of our education system by helping youth cultivate their voice through the art of writing.

If you require any accommodations please contact us at least three days before the event.
