During Colombia’s La Época de la Violencia, migration and displacement were high. Since Colombia’s 2016 Peace Accords is a step toward peace, it faces many challenges. Community organizer, Carol Rojas, from Feminist Antimilitarist Network will show how the organization uses popular education and communication to promote transformative policies and relationships in communities. Their goal is to build historical memory, support the transition from the end of the war to the country’s democratization to works towards peace, and build women’s power.

Carol Rojas was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. She is part of the Feminist Antimilitarist Network, whose primary goal is to demilitarize and undo the patriarchy that exists in peoples’ bodies and minds. The aim is to transform their territories to an antimilitarist working-class feminism and commit towards the democratization of the Colombian state, which is a key idea for the construction of peace.
