Join us for an interactive presentation with author José Ángel N. as he shares stories from his book Illegal: Reflections of an Undocumented Immigrant. Hear about his transformative years as a UIC student and how the humanities have played an important role in his personal and professional growth. His talk will focus on how his education helped him understand the forces that propelled him to leave his home country and take ownership of his life as an undocumented immigrant.

Book Signing

José Ángel N. was born in Mexico and came to Chicago in 1993. He attended UIC where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 2002 and then a Master’s Degree in Latin American Literature in 2004.
