Join the Latino Cultural Center for a screening of Oscar winner for Best Documentary Short, “Inocente.”
At the age of 15, Inocente refuses to let her dream of becoming an artist be caged by her life as an undocumented immigrant forced to live homeless for the last nine years. The challenges are staggering, but the hope in Inocente’s story proves that the hand she has been dealt does not define her, her dreams do.
- Approx. 40min.
Screening followed by discussion facilitated by Mario Lucero- LALS Graduate student and LCC graphic designer, Rigo Padilla- LALS Graduate student and IYJL leader, and Yaxal Sobrevilla- UIC student and IYJL leader.
