Reimagining Masculinities – Kickoff – Bow Tie Making Workshop – Spring 2017

January 24, 2017

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Presented by: UIC Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change

Join the Reimagining Masculinities Initiative (RMI) for a hands-on, creative workshop to help us expand the limited vision of masculinity at UIC!

Using fabric markers, participants will be able to stain their own bow tie with bright, bold colors and designs! Come express what masculinity means to you, learn how to tie a bow tie, and learn why the bow tie as a metaphor to unpack masculinities.

  • Limited supply bow ties, so be on time!

This dialogue initiative is a collaboration between the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change (CCUSC) and aims to create a campus that is inclusive for everyone. Therefore, we strive to cultivate, support, affirm, and create male allies and advocates because we realize that many are impacted by issues of masculinity and gender.

Upcoming Dialogues on Tuesdays at 3pm – Save the Dates! #BowTieTuesdays

  • February 14
  • March 14
  • April 11
