Your Voice, Our Voices

March 12, 2015

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center

Join Mexican Students de Aztlán (MeSA), Students for the Advancement of Freedom, Equality and Human Rights (SAFEHR), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), and Union of Puerto Rican Students (UPRS) for Noche de Poetas (Poetry Night) with a special collaboration with Fight for 15.

OPEN MIC!

Don’t miss out on the amazing talented poets as they share their own poetic words on this month’s national theme “Weaving the Stories of Womyn’s Lives.”

Leading the night will be our featured poet and special guest from the Fight for 15campaign!

  • Think of the prominent womyn in your life —what have you learned from them?
  • What are some powerful examples in which womyn have had an impact in our communities?
  • How can we defy stereotypes that stigmatize womyn and their bodies?

If you require any accommodations please contact us.
