Community Poem Heading link

How can we collectively work towards justice?
What are moments of resistance in your life and how can we support each other?

Justice should be and always has been a battle that needs to be tackled collectively. Each group of color needs to come together to protest and front against not only white privilege but more life easier for others. For is not, America will crumble and destroy itself.

Educating our people that human rights are inherited, not earned. Believing in each other when they say their humans should be the only truth you should believe. Leave the judgements, the notions, the what ifs. We can only sort to justice when we believe we really know nothing and can’t judge a story on its cover.

Resistance: Radically being yourself

Resistance: Being so powerful that you’re able to fight for what you believe in/for who you are/for what made you, you at any time at any day.

Resistance: Fighting to restore humanity

Resistance: To express what’s right even if its one against all.

Resistance: United and safe together in our diaspora

Resistance – not forget to pass the mic to people & let them speak on their own narratives. Uplift their voices.

We support each other through showing up for each other, being there for other communities when they face hardship.

All it takes is one breath, one stomp, or just owning yourself, because after all, self love is radical. We have nothing to lose but our chains.

I am a brown muslim immigran and I felt so empowered and insipred tonight. Thank you for that.

Resistance: Overcoming one’s nafs (desires), to be better and stronger…

Resistance: fighting everything against you to conquer
