November 10, 2016

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center

Join Students for Mexican Students de Aztlán (MeSA), Students for the advancement of Freedom, Equality and Human Rights (SAFEHR), Justice in Palestine (SJP), and Union for Puerto Rican Students (UPRS) for the last Noche de Poetas (Poetry Night) of this fall semester.

OPEN MIC!

Join your fellow students to experience the talented poets and other performers in exploring the way in which oppressed peoples from around the world have resisted the forces that assault the fabric of their lives and communities.

  • The featured poet of the night is Dania Noghnogh!

Dania Noghnogh is a third-year Biology and Political Science major. One of Diana’s self-professed passions in life is poetry, so much so that it has led her to compete on a national and international level. Beyond her poetry career, Dania has worked extensively with refugees in Lebanon, Turkey, and Bosnia. She hopes to someday work in speech pathology with refugee children.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this program. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting the number above.
