- What kind of cities do we want to inhabit in the 21st century?
This question is analyzed through the eyes of urban planners, displaced residents, immigrant workers, developers, and community activists. As cities all over the world struggle to recover from economic, natural, or human-made disasters, the lessons of post-Katrina New Orleans become more urgent. This film utilizes diverse stories as a tool to galvanize and educate urban America around core urban issues of urban redevelopment, immigration, and affordable housing.

This film screening is part of the “Courting Disaster: Neoliberal Politics and the City in the Wake of Hurricane Katrina” symposium.
Screening followed by discussion facilitated by Rhoda Rae Gutierrez, Educational Policy Studies and Ryan Lugalia-Hollon, Institute for Environmental Science and Policy.
