- National Hispanic Heritage Month is here and it is a time of great cultural pride, but how beneficial is this approach to affirming our cultural heritage and history?
- Should these month-long celebrations be eliminated or should they be preserved?
These are the questions explored by African American filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghmanas he embarks on a cross-country campaign to end Black History Month. Both amusing and thought-provoking, More Than a Month examines what the treatment of history tells us about race and power in contemporary America.
- Approx. 60min.
Join us after the film for a panel discussion with the directors of these cultural centers.
Moderated by Kevin Kumashiro, Asian American Studies and Education.
