Reimagining Masculinities – Spring 2016 Kickoff!

January 26, 2016

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Address

Chicago, IL 60612

Presented by: UIC Centers for Cultural Understanding & Social Change

Join the Reimagining Masculinities Initiative at UIC and help us expand the limited vision of masculinity. Through dialogues, films, and personal stories, we unpack what it means to be masculine and how masculinity influences our world as we build a momentum for positive social change. Everyone is welcome.

This dialogue initiative is a collaboration between the six Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change (CCUSC) and aims to create a campus that is inclusive for everyone. Therefore, we strive to cultivate, support, affirm, and create male allies and advocates because we realize that many are impacted by issues of masculinity and gender.

  • Save the Date: Feb. 23 – “White Scripts and Black Supermen: Black Masculinities in Comic Books” Screening & Community Dialogue – 3pm to 5pm
  • Next Dialogue Gatherings: March 8 & 29, and April 12 – 3pm to 4:30pm
  • Closing / Social Wrap-Up: April 26 – 3pm to 4:30pm
