Don’t miss out on the amazing talented poets as they share their own poetic words on this month’s theme “Tracing Our Blueprint: Defining Identity and Diaspora.”
Leading the night will be our featured poets Remi Kanazi and Luis Tubéns!
- How do you define and embrace your cultural identity?
- How has diaspora shaped your sense of belonging in our society?
Remi Kanazi is a Palestinian-American poet and human rights activist based in New York City. His poetic verses of spoken word tackle mainstream political misrepresentations of critical issues by addressing topics such as human rights, Palestine, Iraq, and Islamophobia.
Luis Tubens is a Puerto Rican Chicago born poet. His narrative poems depict the gritty ambiance of the inner-cityscape while describing reflective personal experiences. He draws inspiration from the urban realities of the developing Latino diaspora and from his observations of proletarian struggles.
All audiences are welcome to join us at this event. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting us.
