Join the Latino Cultural Center and the Disability Resource Center for an interactive conversation with Gail Werblood about exploring a lesser known period in Frida Kahlo’s life. Discover the budding evidence of Frida’s voice on experiencing disability, as she first expresses it through her written words and art following her disastrous street bus accident in 1925.
- Gail Werblood is an art historian who has taught and lectured widely. She is now working in the field of Disability Studies through the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she has recently successfully defended her dissertation on Frida Kahlo’s disability experience.
