As fast food industries increase their profits, why do their workers maintain a minimum wage?
Join us for an interactive conversation with the Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago (WOCC), who have led the local Fight for 15 campaign to bring awareness to the high number of fast food workers who live below the poverty line. They will share their campaign demands that the McDonald’s Corporation treat workers with dignity, respect, and raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour in order to support themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods.
The Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago was founded in November 2012 and is a union of fast food workers pushing for better conditions in their industries. The expanding Fight for 15 campaign seeks: $15/hour living wage and the right to form a union without retaliation.
