Historias Monarca has collaborated with several community organizations during the duration of the program. Among those organizations is Enlace’s Parent Leaders for College (PLC) group and Yollocalli, which is comprised of a group of youth leaders and artists. Here you will find more information about some of the community organizations and their initiatives, along with some downloadable material. Please take some time to learn more about the amazing work these organizations have put forward.

During the duration of the Historias Monarca project we have worked on compiling a list of different resources about the conservation of the monarch butterfly that could be made available to anyone who wished to be part of the movement. Here you will find guides to create habitats, tools and strategies, stories and facts, and many other things. We hope you find these resources useful.

Historias Monarca (Monarch Stories) is a storytelling project of the UIC Latino Cultural Center in partnership with Enlace Chicago and Yollocalli Arts Reach with support from the USDA Forest Service International Programs. The project was completed from Fall 2016 to Summer 2017.

Zine Printing & Folding Instructions
Materials: this PDF, 11×17 inch paper, color printer, and scissors

Print the zine double-sided on 11×17 inch paper
Fold the paper in half from short-end to short-end
Fold paper in half again
Fold paper in half from short-end to short-end
Unfold paper
Fold the paper in half from short-end to short-end again
Cut the middle crease by starting at the folded edge until you reach the middle crease
Unfold the paper and notice there is a slit in the middle of the paper
Fold from long-edge to long-edge
Push both edges together like an accordion to fold into a booklet
Share with everybody and remember you can unfold the zine to share the poster!
If you cannot print, please come by the Latino Cultural Center and ask for the Historias Monarca zine.

Cierre ambos orillas como acordeón para doblar como un librito
Comparte con todos y recuerda que puede abrir la revista (zine) para enseñar el póster!
