How do we give people with disabilities voice in their own lives?
How does your life challenge the stereotypes about your identities?
Treat everyone equally
Don’t let your biases of disabilities dictate the way you treat people
We give them the mic.
Listen
Be patient and caring
Listen, Ask, Listen
The world sees “girl” or maybe “tomboy” or maybe something else? I don’t want to be any of them
Let them be them, the quarterback of their own identities and endeavors
They use disabled/deaf/autistic neurodivergent people have no souls, no feelings. Yet why this “soulless” crip, care so much about my people, my community?
Do not judge a book by it’s cover
Don’t judge anyone
Don’t pity anyone
The best allies LISTEN before the SPEAK
The best allies PRACTICE what they PREACH
We give people with disabilities voice in their own lives by not acting like they don’t exist, showing that they even after everything their just like any human beings. And helping them even when they aren’t searching for help
People with disabilities give their own voice. Let’s listen to them
Just love everyone. That’s why we’re here.
LISTEN. LEARN. CHANGE.
CREATE BETTER SPACES
PTSD DOESN’T DEFINE ME
AND I’VE NEVER BEEN IN A WAR ZONE.
Listen to understand
I was suppose to be defined by my feelings but I let truth in and let it define me
