Thursday, 5:30 pm–7:30 pm

Community Poem Heading link

How have you found joy in spite of injustices?

Food 🙂

Sharing with those closest to you

Channeling anger → art

What are some fun-filled activities on campus that have brought joy to your student life?

LARES
LCC
LCC
LARES

How do you define something you feel?

Being part of MESA, and UWN makes me happy. Sharing great moments w/ the eboards and members is something I would never trade.

I really enjoy Noche de Poetas as well as being part of MeSA. Finding people to belong with makes it fun.

First time attending Noche de Poetas and I can’t wait to attend all the future ones to come. Also want to thank those involved with the creation of Noche de Poetas for allowing it to be added to our Latinx Heritage Month Series means a lot!

The connection among the people here. Not realizing not only I but others experience the same story as me.

Foods, friend, family, drawing, anything I enjoy is where I find joy! So far, all of the fun activities I’ve been to were mainly from LARES

Food makes me happy. I am in LARES currently.

Lemon, lavender & Palestinian revolutionary music!

What time is not noticeable, happiness is. Risks make me happy.

Remembering my struggle, struggles with self-injury
Mutilate my beautiful skin
Cry over my inner pain
Yet, looks down at my arm
Healed scars do no more harm
I can breathe better coming
To terms with who I am as a person
I am a person with feelings
Forever now, I will love myself
Despite the ease with which I do the opposite

Share everything you can to have each others back, solidarity, love or kindness, doesn’t cost anything it’s free to give, to share

Never give up. It is so easy to lose hope during a time like this, but remind yourself that change happens with unity.

Find joy in clay to day interactions and always remember that there are people who value you. For the people who aren’t affected by the Trump era, lend a hand to those who need one.

Show unconditional support but also respect their feelings and allow them to process. Continuously support their struggle and do not forget about it. Above all, show your friends in these situations that you love and support them
