Hear Me Exist: The Sound of Perseverance

Thursday, 5:30 pm–7:30 pm

Community Poem Heading link

In what ways have you built support systems to address social issues on campus and/or community?

We all persevere, we all have a story; an experience.
Social support systems like nights like this are how we share those stories. How we remove the walls between our cultures. How we address social issues

So don’t turn the page, don’t skip the chapter, and most of all, do your best to read between the lines.

I turn to people that made me flower to share the rain line collected from poster souls (?)

It is the time to be women and men of strength. There are people who have misconceptions of us, and what they have in their minds needs to change. Many of us are afraid of change but it is the only way

Do not be afraid of what they may do to you, they’re scared of you. Your culture, your hijab, your beard, your turban, your religion. They are scared. They resorted to hate, vulgar language & empty threats. We will not move. We will not give in. We are here. We are together.

I used to think synonymous with weakness. Now I know femininity can be strong.

The higher mental development of a woman, the less possible it is for her to meet a congenial male who will see in her, not only sex, but also the human being. The friend, the comrade and strong individuality who connect and out not lose a single trait of her characters…
