Bow Tie Tuesdays at UIC!

LCC Student Workers (Left to Right): Jocelyn Munguía, James Esparza, Ian Torres, Lena G. Reynolds, and Alonzo Zamarrón

The Reimagining Masculinities Initiative at UIC uses bow ties as a metaphor for masculinity to unpack what it means to be masculine, and explore how masculinity influences our world. Like tying a bow tie, understanding masculinity can be frustrating and confusing at times… There’s more than one way to tie a bow, and there’s more than one way to be masculine—and sometimes you have to ask for help to figure it out! It’s OK to ask for help, and it’s also OK for any one to wear a bow tie. So, we invite all students, faculty and staff to rock a bow tie every Tuesday and help us expand the limited vision of masculinity. #BowTieTuesdays

This initiative is a collaboration between the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change.
