Public Presentations
The Latino Cultural Center’s (LCC) Climates of Inequality Virtual Presentation Series in Fall 2020 hosted Chicago region environmental and climate justice leaders whose work focused on front-line communities that are impacted by environmental pollution, climate change, and COVID-19. The presentations in Fall 2021 and Fall 2022, were extended to environmental and climate justice advocates across the country and abroad. Leaders discussed the intersection of ECJ with immigration, border surveillance, superfund sites, labor, community response and advocacy, and more.
Students in Cabrera’s Fall 2020, 2021, and 2022 ECJ course (LALS 495/ ANTH 494/ MUSE 400) facilitated the post presentation conversations with the ECJ leaders.
