“Chocolate: Drink of Gods, Food of Mortals” Exhibit – Opening Reception

April 30, 2015

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center in partnership with the Department of Anthropology, Latin American and Latino Studies Program, and the National Museum of Mexican Art

Chocolate: Drink of Gods, Food of Mortals

Join us for a celebration of chocolate past and present! Inspired by the success of our “Chocolate: Drink of Gods, Food of Mortals” series, the LCC has created an exhibit to be displayed at the UIC Daley Library through April 30th, 2016. We’ll remember our past public programs and invite everyone to get involved while making connections to the exhibit! Submit a Choco-Story of your own or help make the “world of chocolate” better—as ethical consumers through fair trade and sustainable options.

Lena Guerrero Reynolds is a graduate student in UIC’s Museum & Exhibition Studies Program and curator of this exhibit. A former educator at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum and currently a Graduate Assistant at the Latino Cultural Center.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this event. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting us.
