Clínica de Migrantes

September 26, 2018

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Presented by the UIC Latino Cultural Center

Clínica de Migrantes addresses critical health concerns that takes us on an emotional journey with the staff and patients at a volunteer-run clinic where undocumented immigrants receive medical care. By law, in some parts of the country, people without a legal status are denied health insurance and basic human rights. In Philadelphia, many go to the Puentes de Salud clinic after being turned away at other hospitals. Join us as we make the connection to the realities of many undocumented Chicagoans.

Screening followed by discussion facilitated by Dr. Xóchitl Bada, Associate Professor at UIC’s Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) Program.
