Communal Altar Installation
When: Monday, Oct. 24th, 2022
Time: 1pm-3pm CST
Where: in-person at the LCC, Lecture Center B2
We invite you to participate in our annual communal altar installation by bringing a photo or a remembrance item of a departed loved one to place on our altar, which will be on display until Thursday, Nov. 4th. (38 words)
Heritage Garden Harvest Fest & Seed Bomb Workshop
When: Thursday, Oct. 27th, 2022
Time: 2pm - 4pm CST
Where: In-person with limited capacity at the LCC, Lecture Center B2
Get the tools to grow Guerrilla Gardens in your neighborhood, learn about cultural connections, create skull-shaped seed bombs to help preserve Monarch butterfly habitats, and honor departed loved ones through storytelling. (31 words)
NEW Outdoor Mural Inauguration
When: Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, 2022
Time: 4pm - 6pm CST
Where: In-person with limited capacity at the LCC, Lecture Center B2
Join us for the inauguration of a new mural outside of the UIC Latino Cultural Center and enjoy music, food, and more! This mural was painted by the UIC Heritage Garden and students from Yollocalli’s Street Art.
This program is co-sponsored by UIC student organizations:
Delta Psi of Alpha Multicultural Co-Ed Fraternity Inc., Eco-Educators, Mujeres En Medicina, Union for Puerto Rican Students (UPRS), and Zeta Chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda.
All in-person events at the LCC will have a limited capacity and wearing masks is required. All audiences are welcome.
