3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Presented by: the UIC Latino Cultural Center and the Women’s Leadership Resource Center

Join us for a screening and conversation about Free Havana, a documentary about courage, love, and determination to fight for justice. Six Cuban members of the LGBTQ communities share their experiences before and after the Cuban revolution. They are faced with obstacles in an environment where sexuality is frowned upon and even punishable. But as Cuba and the rest of the world is becoming more accepting, find out where they stand now.

Screening followed by discussion facilitated by Maritxa Vidal, president of the TransLatin@ Coalition – Chicago Chapter, Board Member of the National TransLatin@ Coalition, and Director of Health Education, Community Outreach, and Marketing at Vida/SIDA.

Approx. 58 min.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this program. Captioning, ASL Interpretation, and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting the number below.
