March 10, 2016

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center

Join Mexican Students de Aztlán (MeSA), Students for the Advancement of Freedom, Equality and Human Rights (SAFEHR), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), and Union for Puerto Rican Students (UPRS) for Noche de Poetas (Poetry Night).

OPEN MIC!

Don’t miss out on the amazing talented poets as they share their own poetic words on this month’s theme “Rebirth from Labels.”

Leading the night will be our featured poet – Harmonic 4.

As the spring season begins, let’s connect the rebirth of nature to the ways in which we have been able to grow into strong, empowered individuals, regardless of society’s restrictions.

  • What is the incredible power that each of us has to combat society’s restrictions?
  • How do we support each other in this endeavor?

Harmonic 4 is an all women group composed by Kaitlynn Richardson, Dyese Moody, Samantha Hernandez, and Sanjana Srinivasan. They use covers and original music to create solidarity and understanding of different issues they see around them.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this program. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting the number above.
