    OPEN MIC!

Don't miss out on the amazing talented poets as they share their own poetic words on this month's theme, “Mental Health”

Leading the night will be our featured Keaton Fisher.

    • How can we de-stigmatize mental health?
    • How can we support those who are struggling with mental health issues?

Keaton Fisher is a 25 year old social entrepreneur born in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. He graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor in 2011 as a National Achievement Award winner, declaring him top 800 black students in the country of that graduating year. He battled mental health issues while attempting to transition from high school to college which led to Keaton returning home and taking a couple years off before transferring to UIC in the fall of 2017. His poetry is inspired by his experiences and from being a witness to the state of the world.
