Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center
- How can a cultural center in a public university act as a forum for democracy in action?
- How do you take advantage of your cultural resources, networks, and skills to build coalitions for social change?
The UIC campus is a microcosm of Chicago’s rich cultural diversity. Your personal and academic growth at UIC will be shaped by encounters with familiar and “different” people, and one way to experience and understand this rich diversity on campus is through the power of art and storytelling. In these theme-based dialogues, you will be exposed to a mural which we will use to share stories, learn from each other’s perspectives, and challenge ourselves to address contemporary issues and become agents for social change.
All audiences are welcome to join us at this event. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting us.
