Address

Presented by: UIC Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change

Keep it 100 with yourself in this reflective practice at the Reimagining Masculinities Initiative. This hour long class with yoga instructor Mila Kellen “Kels” Marshall is designed to connect you to your core; not just your physical core but your core beliefs and your core values.

Trap yoga is style of class that uses the soundscape as a tool for a deeper practice, and can offer students an opportunity to work on internal focus. Students will be introduced to the foundations of yoga and breath awareness with a chance to find their physical work in balance poses, dope binds and restorative releases.

Class is open to all levels and is ideal for yoga beginners. On your mat you will practice non-judgement and forgiveness to support living off your mat in full self-acceptance and confidence. Mats are optional; large towel works too!

The Reimagining Masculinities Initiative is a collaboration between the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change that strives to cultivate, support, affirm, and create male allies and advocates. Through dialogues, films, workshops and personal stories, this initiative unpacks what it means to be masculine, and explores issues of masculinity and gender.
