Violentology: A Manual of the Colombian Conflict

April 13, 2016

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Presented by: UIC Latino Cultural Center

Join us in welcoming Stephen Ferry as he presents Violentologya product of ten years of photographic documentation in Colombia. This manual is a combination of original photography with archival imagery and carefully researched text to provide a historical and eyewitness account of the war in Colombia. His work focuses on human rights and the struggle of Colombian civilians to resist the violence, often at great risk to their own lives.

  • Stephen Ferry has traveled to dozens of countries, covering social and political change, human rights, and the environment, on assignment for publications such as National Geographic, GEO, TIME and the New York Times. Mr. Ferry created Violentology as a platform to discuss the Colombian conflict, the visual documentation human rights, and the prospect of peace in that war-torn country.

All audiences are welcome to join us at this program. Captioning, ASL Interpretation and Audio-Description services will be available upon request by contacting the number above.
