“Snow can’t stop us, we deserve a student rep!” This was the cry of students battling a blizzard and chilling temperatures in order to make their voices and demands heard. On Thursday morning, February 26th, students from the student organization Fearless Undocumented Alliance (FUA) and supporters took to the Quad of the UIC East Campus. FUA and their allies held a press conference to discuss issues regarding the undocumented student body of the U of I system. Recently, Mateo Uribe, student leader and a member of several student organizations including FUA, applied to run for the Student Trustee position and was denied for reasons that were not clear at the time of the application being submitted.
