Beyond the Intersections of Machismo
On Wednesday, October 25, 2016, Aída Hurtado, the nationally renowned author and professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, visited the LCC to discuss her new book, Beyond Machismo. Her book examines young, educated Latino men who are constantly defying machismo by trying to find a deeper understanding of women’s experiences and issues of gender oppression.
We highly recommend the book as it challenges ideas of Latino masculinities and the concept of “machismo” – it will make a great stocking stuffer!
