Heritage Garden and Storytelling Performance
The UIC Heritage Garden summer cohort of 2014 hosted a Meet’n Greet gathering where they performed stories that they collected from family and friends about environmentally-friendly traditions and practices. Their stories highlighted diverse ways that people connect with nature and how cultural heritage and intersecting identities influence their decisions and desires. The student leaders and interns then shared their internship experience with the audience and led tours of the six garden satellites on East Campus, followed by a reception at the African-American Cultural Center where visitors peeked at an exhibition in progress.
