Keeping Families Together
On Thursday October 4, 2018, Oscar Chacon from Alianza Americas gave a presentation at the Latino Cultural Center for Zona Abierta: Keeping Families Together. The program was co-sponsored by the student organizations Feminist United and Fearless Undocumented Alliance. Oscar discussed the history of the United States’ involvement in the migration from Central America, in addition to the current immigration policy, specifically the separation of parents from their kids. Many students took notes of the information Oscar gaved. Students were able to ask Oscar questions, and he tried to respond to as many as possible.
