Know Your Rights 1
On February 21, 2017, the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change hosted their first of two moderated Know Your Rights Workshops, where more than 100 students, staff and faculty came to learn about ways to protect themselves and their communities. The three speakers discussed the laws and policies revolving around freedom of speech, the current immigration travel ban, and the necessary procedures if you are ever stopped by ICE or the Department of Homeland Security. There will be a second Know Your Rights workshop during March, which will continue to address the necessary information about their rights due to the current political climate, including and beyond the legal framework.
