Mobile Street Art Cart at UIC

tote bag reads: Keep Families Together, Abolish ICE

On September 24th 2019, the Latino Cultural Center hosted Mobile Street Art Cart as part of their ARTivism series.

This open art studio featured artist William Estrada and students from Art 201: Democratic Practices in Art Education. Over 200 participants screen printed tote bags and posters with the Mobile Street Art Cart while learning how to take action to support immigrants. Additional posters were customized for a Know-Your-Rights Campaign across local businesses.

This program was presented by the Latino Cultural Center in collaboration with the UIC School of Art and Art History, and PASO - West Suburban Action Project, and co-sponsored by UIC student organization Chi Sigma Omega.
