The Latino Cultural Center’s (LCC) Fall Open House took place on September 4, 2019 as part of the Taste of CCUSC (or Taste of the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change). The Taste of CCUSC was a new event showcasing all seven of UIC’s Cultural Centers and their Open Houses throughout two weeks. The event allowed UIC students, staff, and community members to meet all CCUSC staff, learn about each center’s resources, histories and upcoming programs over appetizing and diverse foods.

The LCC’s Open House featured its Archives, which document over 43 years of history, as well as information about the LCC’s internship programs, Dialogues and Mural Tours initiative, and upcoming programs. Visitors dined on beef and vegetable empanadas with Agua de Jamaica and received recipes cards so that they could make their own are home.
