Join us for an intercultural gathering to experience the creative processes and practices the immigration movement is using to build an active community while adding to the vibrancy of U.S. society. Learn how undocumented students and community activists are challenging ideas of citizenship and identity through music, photography, spoken word, and storytelling. Be a part of this inspiring collective and share a story on Migration & Transformation.

  • Migration & Transformation is a project of the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change that highlights the different migration experiences of people living in the U.S. and how this shapes their identities and sense of belonging in our society.
  • Shadows then Light is an art installation for the 112th American Anthropological Association, Nov. 20-24 with the 2013 annual meeting theme Future Publics, Current Engagements; produced in collaboration with Steve Pavey and Marco Saavedra.

If you require any accommodations please contact us at least three days before the event.

Co-sponsors: CultureStrike, the UIC Campus Housing, CCSL, LALS, LARES, and student organizations Ballet de Colores, FUA, HGSG, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Lambda Upsilon Lambda, and O.W.L.S. in C.U.S.
