Valentine’s Prints for Queer Love & Communal Care
On February 14, 2023 the UIC Latino Cultural Center and the UIC Gender and Sexuality Center hosted an open art studio with artists from the Marimacha Monarca Press (MMP). MMP are a collective of queer & trans artists and educators of color based on Chicago’s southside. These artists led a printmaking open studio with carved relief blocks. Participants were encouraged to print and personalize their own Valentine's card* with messages of chosen familia love, queer rage, and mutual aid in our communities.
