This is my favorite mask because I bought it from a woman who recently lost her job, and started making masks to make income. The mask does not necessarily scream a message to others, but it is homemade. Buying a homemade mask from someone can truly help them in ways not everyone can understand. It is important to wear a mask for the front line workers that are risking their lives everyday for us, so the least we could do for them is wear a mask.
The COVID-19 Masking Project was developed by the UIC Latino Cultural Center (LCC) in partnership with the UIC Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) to engage students, faculty, staff, and community members in a creative and meaningful way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
