This is my favorite mask—just an inexpensive one from Target— because I love its origin story.
My mom and I went shopping for reusable face masks so we’d be able to stay safe and protect others during the pandemic while also helping to keep disposable masks from landfills. We found so many colorful mask patterns that we bought them for my grandparents as well. I know that Papi and Grandma love their masks too, and I think of them whenever I wear mine.
The COVID-19 Masking Project was developed by the UIC Latino Cultural Center (LCC) in partnership with the UIC Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) to engage students, faculty, staff, and community members in a creative and meaningful way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
