Sheila Santos

Masked selfie of Sheila against a blue floral background with the title

These are the masks I am required to wear at work, while it is a requirement I also actively remember to wear my mask and do my part to protect my community.

Even though my mask is simple it speaks volumes as I interact with multiple individuals and show them I am protecting them and those around us. It is now part of my daily routine, whether I’m getting groceries, taking a walk, or going to work I will wear my mask.

The COVID-19 Masking Project was developed by the UIC Latino Cultural Center (LCC) in partnership with the UIC Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) to engage students, faculty, staff, and community members in a creative and meaningful way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
